Nine core modules + Custom

Every trip breaks along the same nine lines. Expedition OS asks about all of them.

T1

Tools / Repair

Rig-specific: what breaks first, can you fix it?

M1

Medical

First aid appropriate to remoteness and route.

W1

Water

Carry ratio, reserve capacity, purification.

C1

Camp

Shelter, sleep, and cooking — what your setup actually does at 3 am.

F1

Food

Realistic caloric budget vs what you're actually carrying.

E1

Electronics

Charging, comms, and signal gaps you've mapped.

D1

Documents / Navigation

Paper, phone, and the route notes that survive rain.

P1

Personal

The discretionary weight you'll pay for on day six.

S1

Survival

The line between inconvenience and emergency, packed on purpose.

CU

Custom modules — extend the system

The nine cover what most riders carry. Custom covers what makes your expedition yours — a drone kit, camera system, fly fishing gear, climbing rack, scientific instruments. Pick a 2-character code, pick a label, we make the patch.

How Custom works

Load Structure

The argument you should have in the driveway.

Load Structure is the module that says: before you leave the driveway, does the sag match the load, does the load match the terrain, does the terrain match the plan? The green/amber/red verdict exists so you argue about this before the trip, not on the trail with a hacksaw.

Weight budgeting per module. Front/rear balance. Total-weight-vs-terrain check. Fixable in the driveway. Unfixable at 700 km from a hospital.

The verdict engine

One decision at the end. Green, amber, red.

Green

Ready to Depart

No significant issues. Your plan holds up. Go.

Amber

Ready with Actions

Fixable weaknesses. Do the listed actions before departure.

Red

Not Recommended

Structural weaknesses. Redesign before the trip runs you.

When the Expedition Planner isn’t enough

Some plans need a human arguing back. That’s the Design Review.

Expedition OS builds the plan. Expedition Design Review pressure-tests it. Founding rate is $150 USD for the first ten. Long-term price is $295 USD.
