Nine modules cover most of what most riders carry. A Custom module (CU) is how the language stretches — a laser-cut, Velcro-backed Cordura patch for the thing your setup needs that the core nine don’t.

Custom modules are almost always vanity. Prove it earns space by removing something else.

What lesson or forecasted risk drives this module?
If you cannot name a specific failure mode, a Custom is not the answer. Add to an existing core module instead.

Can it survive the drop, dust, and heat of your worst planned day?
The Custom lives with the rest of your kit. Same ambient stress. Same handling. Test before departure.

Is there a spare or resupply plan along your route?
Custom means bespoke means fragile supply chain. Plan the resupply before you plan the module.
