What breaks first and where.
Model-year/naming discrepancy: brief specifies 2024, but the Tuareg 660 Rally is a MY2025 model
MinorWidespreadThis is a data-quality note, not a mechanical known issue. Aprilia officially unveiled the Tuareg 660 Rally at EICMA in November 2024 as a 2025 model-year vehicle; it was not available for sale or delivery during 2024 (first deliveries were expected around February-May 2025). There is no 2024-model-year Tuareg 660 Rally. All specifications in this record are sourced from the actual MY2025 Rally launch materials, since that is the only Tuareg 660 Rally that exists. The standard (non-Rally) Tuareg 660 did have a 2024 model year, but it only received color updates that year, per Aprilia's own EICMA MY2024 page.
Field repairableNo — Not applicable — this is a research/data-provenance note, not a vehicle defect.
Kayaba front fork internal assembly defect — potential platform-shared risk (monitor only)
ModerateRareThe standard Tuareg 660 (2022-2024) has documented forum reports of a missing shim/spacer defect in the Kayaba fork's compression damping stack. The Rally shares Kayaba fork lineage (off-road-tuned version with linear-rate springs rather than the standard's progressive-rate springs), but no Rally-specific reports of this defect were found during this research, likely because the Rally had only recently begun shipping to customers as of the research date. This is included as a watch item, not a confirmed issue for the Rally.
Symptoms
- Harsh or inconsistent front fork damping
- Fork feels overly stiff or poorly controlled over bumps
Field repairableYes — If suspicious fork behavior is noted, a suspension shop can inspect the compression damping stack for a missing spacer/crushed shims, as documented on the standard Tuareg 660.
