The lesson
Cape York clutch, 2-day drive from signal. That's when I stopped travelling with a generic tool roll.
What this module forces
T1 forces the question: for THIS vehicle, on THIS route, what breaks first — and can you fix it? Not a generic list. A tool roll audited against the vehicle you're actually on.
The questions this module asks
What are the top three failure modes for your vehicle in the last 20k km?
Do you carry the specific tools for those three failures?
Have you performed the repair at least once, in a driveway, not for the first time on the trail?
Where does the tool roll live on the vehicle, and how do you get to it in the rain?
The verdict
Green
Vehicle-specific roll, three known failure modes covered, repairs practised, accessible in weather.
Amber
Roll present but one of the known failure modes uncovered, or repairs never practised.
Red
Generic tool roll or no roll. Multiple known failures uncovered. Extraction planning becomes primary.
